These ta'ape, or blue stripe snapper, spend the day resting by swimming in balls to convince predators they are something too big to mess with. This photograph, captured at about 30 feet below where the sun is breaking the surface in the Ahihi reserve off South Maui, offers complimentary yellows and blues to make this symmetrical composition a vibrant addition to many decors.
