The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles love to munch on the red algae growing in the shallow waters along the coastlines of the Hawaiian Islands. During the high tides, they are especially active since they can reach the sweet sun drenched patches that are inaccessible during the low tides. This is a good time to watch the honu without even getting wet. This turtle was shot at just such a time in the Makena area on Maui known as Five Caves.
